On 22 April 2014 I revised the talk slides, as I found a mistake in one sensor data set that I used. I also changed the example from using unfiltered to “acetate”-filtered UVB lamps, as this is closer to normal practice.
talk.bled (revised) PDF file as used during talk but with errors corrected.
talk.art.bled (revised) PDF file formatted as an “article” and with all R code used to draw figures visible.
Please, also have a look at the last couple of slides with acknowledgements, which I could not show at Bled because I run out of time.
Follow the instructions in the road map page and, please, make sure to get familiar with R and RStudio before arriving in Helsinki. Also install R and RStudio on the laptop that you bring with you, and test that both programs work. Remember to bring any adapters needed to plug your laptop’s power supply into a DIN (=Schuko) power socket. WiFi access will be available in the classroom.
Printed copies of the handbook will be delivered for free to all participants.
Please, follow this blog if you are a participant in the school.
E-mails have been sent today informing everybody who had pre-registered whether they have been accepted or not as participants. If you have pre-registered but not received and e-mail, then please, contact us a.s.a.p.

The last training school organized by TG1 will take place in Helsinki. The subject is different to that of the previous three training schools that we organized. This one will consist in lectures, some conceptual exercises and extensive computer practice. The main focus will be the use of R in photobiological research, at all stages of the research process, from experimental design to data analysis. In addition the photobiology suite of R packages that I am developing will be presented.
There is a page more information about this school and also links to pages, videos, and interactive tutorial on R and RStudio. After reading the details in this page, you can pre-register using an online form.
